QUESTION: Who is JESUS?
ANSWER 1: First of all, in contrast to the question “Does God exist?” The question of whether or not Jesus Christ ever lived is one that is posed by a comparatively small number of people. The majority of people believe that Jesus was a real man who lived in Israel approximately two thousand years ago. The discussion of Jesus’ complete identity is where it all starts for this argument. The teachings of virtually all of the world’s major religions agree that Jesus was either a prophet, a wise teacher, or a godly man. However, the Bible tells us that Jesus was not only a prophet, a good teacher, or a godly man; he was also much more than that.
C. S. Lewis writes the following in his book Mere Christianity: “I am trying here to prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him [Jesus Christ]: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God.'” [C. S. Lewis] “I am trying here to prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him [Jesus Christ]: ‘I’m ready to That is the lone thing that we are not allowed to express. Someone who was just a man like everyone else and said the same things that Jesus did would not make for an effective moral educator. He would either be a deranged individual, on par with a man who claims he is an egg poached in butter, or he would be the devil himself, the ruler of hell. You must make your choice. This man was either the Son of God in the past and still is in the present, or else he was a lunatic or something even worse. You have three options: you can ignore him as if he were an idiot, you can spit at him and kill him because he is a demon, or you can bow down to him and call him Lord and God. Let us, however, refrain from coming up with any condescending nonsense about how great of a human teacher he is. He has not given us the opportunity to pursue that course of action. He had no intention of doing so.”
Who, then, did Jesus assert that he was? According to the Bible, who is this person? To begin, He is God manifest in human form. In John chapter 10:30, Jesus is quoted as saying, “The Father and I are one.” This might not appear to be a claim to be God at first glance. [Case in point:] But take a look at how the Jews responded to Him making that statement. They wanted to kill him “for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God,” and they tried to stone him (John 10:33). The Jews construed Jesus’ statement as an assertion that he himself was God. In the verses that follow, Jesus makes no attempt to correct the Jews or to clarify the statement that He just made. Never once does he assert that “I did not claim to be God.” When Jesus claimed, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30), he was, in a very real sense, asserting that he was on equal footing with God.
In John 8:58, Jesus makes the claim that God is a pre-existent being. He says, “Very truly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I am!” (‘Very truly I tell you,’ Jesus answered.) In response to this assertion, the Jewish people once more gathered stones in order to stone Jesus (John 8:59). Jesus, in asserting that He existed before the world was created, appropriated the name given to God: “I AM” (see Exodus 3:14). Although the Jews did not acknowledge Jesus as the incarnation of God, they did comprehend every word that he uttered.
Other passages in the Bible that point to Jesus being God in the flesh include John 1:1, which states, “The Word was God,” and John 1:14, which states, “The Word became flesh.” Both of these passages are found in John. The disciple Thomas addressed Jesus by saying, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28), and Jesus did not rebuke him for his statement. Jesus is referred to by Paul as “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” in the New Testament (Titus 2:13). The same thing is said by the apostle Peter, who refers to Jesus as “our God and Savior” (2 Peter 1:1).
The identity of Jesus is also confirmed by the testimony of God the Father, who says the following about his son: “But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.” (Hebrews 1:8; compare and contrast with Psalm 45:6) The divinity of Christ is foretold in a number of passages in the Old Testament, including Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6, which states, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.” And they will call him Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
Why is it so important to resolve the question of who Jesus really was? Why is it important to determine whether Jesus is God or not? There are a few reasons why:
• If Jesus is not God, as C. S. Lewis pointed out, then Jesus is the worst kind of liar and untrustworthy in every way. This makes Jesus the worst of all liars.
• If Jesus is not God, then the apostles are just as much to blame for their lies as Jesus is.
• Because it was promised that the Messiah would be the “Holy One,” it was necessary for Jesus to be God (Isaiah 49:7). Given that no one on earth is good in God’s eyes (Psalm 53:1; 143:2), it was necessary for God to take on human form and come into this world.
• If Jesus is not God, then the sacrifice that He made on the cross is not enough to pay the price that must be paid for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). Only God Himself is capable of making a sacrifice that is both infinite and eternally valuable (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
• There is no other savior besides God (Hosea 13:4; 1 Timothy 2:3). If Jesus is going to save people, then He has to be God in order to do so.
To fulfill his mission, Jesus had to be both God and man. Jesus, being God, was able to appease the anger of God. Jesus was a man, so he was physically capable of passing away. Jesus Christ, who is both God and man, is the only person who can perfectly mediate between heaven and earth (1 Timothy 2:5). Only through having faith in Jesus Christ can one be saved from their sins. He made this proclamation: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” “I am the only way to the Father. No one else can get there” (John 14:6).
ANSWER 2: According to the Bible, Jesus Christ is the incarnate Word of God, meaning that he possessed both human and divine characteristics at the same time. He is also credited with being the creator of the world as well as the founder of Christianity. He gave his life as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world in order to fulfill God’s plan for the redemption of humanity by dying on a Roman cross. Jesus is both the Son of God and equal in power and status with the Father, who gave Jesus his authority. Within the pages of the New Testament, there are over 1,200 references to Jesus. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the four Gospels that make up the New Testament. These Gospels record his life as well as his message and ministry. According to the Christian Gospels and other early Christian writings, Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah, also known as Christ. He was the Son of God and was crucified to pay for the sins of humanity before rising from the dead.

In turn, Jesus grew to adulthood and began his ministry in Israel. During his life, he performed supernatural feats that scientists consider to be impossible.
In the beginning of his ministry, Jesus claimed to be the Jewish Messiah. After announcing this, he told twelve disciples. He told them that he would give them the keys to the kingdom of Heaven. He also declared to Peter that he would give them the power to bind and loose. During his last days, he was betrayed and forsaken by his followers. He ascended to heaven. He promised to return to the earth at a later date. When He returns, He will judge all the people on the earth. During His time on earth, He will be the ruler of the world. Then, He will destroy all the evil people and will restore Paradise that was destroyed by the first Adam.
The Gospels of Matthew and Luke claim that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He was born into a Jewish family. His father was a carpenter. He learned carpentry from his father. Then, He was educated in the teachings of the Jews. He was a prophet and a great physician. He was a great teacher, but his influence was not limited to the Jewish world.
The Gospels reveal that Jesus faced some of the strongest prejudices of His time. He was criticized by His family, the religious leaders, and the Roman government. He was accused of causing civil unrest. He was even deemed a lunatic by some of the people. Nonetheless, Jesus is regarded as the most significant person in history. Moreover, many scholars have examined his life and studied the evidences to confirm his claims.
As a young child, Jesus knew about love and anger. During his early years, he was tempted by the devil in the wilderness. But, he was able to resist temptation by reading scripture. He was also able to instantly create large amounts of food. After his resurrection, he was sent the Holy Spirit. He ministered to the dead. After his resurrection, He ascended to heaven. He taught people about the purpose of their lives. He also taught people to have confidence in death.
The Bible tells us that when He comes back to the earth, He will judge the sins of the whole world. He will also save the people of Israel and will rule the earth for one thousand years.
