All of us worry. We worry about our job security, our children’s futures, our health, and our ability to pay our mortgage and car payments. Experts have many possible solutions. There are many options. Meditation, yoga and psychotherapy all have their place. Americans are increasingly accepting them as a way to cope. People of faith also use these approaches, but they also have a vital support source: the Holy Scriptures.

The subject of worry is addressed in both the Old and New Testaments. It is easy to imagine the stress experienced by Israel’s people as they fled slavery in Egypt and sought the promised land. The Roman authorities must have been terrified of Jesus’ disciples. Paul and his fellow early church members were also subject to daily persecution.

The Bible’s message to worriers is consistent and is still relevant today to believers. God is our rock, our refuge, and always available to provide the strength and resilience we need to face the challenges of life.

You can find comfort and peace in Scripture if you are facing anxiety-filled, difficult days. Satan’s weapons against us are fear, worry, anxiety, and other distractions preventing us from living God’s intended life. These emotions can cause paralysis and overwhelm. You can learn how to get rid of worry and anxiety by meditation on the Word and to focus your attention on Jesus. Take small steps today to live a life free from worry.

These are 132 most powerful Bible verses and scriptures on worry from both the Old and New Testaments arranged based on relevance.

Quote on 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Prayers to soothe an anxious and worried heart: “Dear Lord, I thank You for the ability to be able to come to You at any time regardless of the reason. I’m thankful that when I call upon You you answer me. Help me reach You at the start of my worries and fears and not wait until am unable to take them anymore. The faster I get to You, the better. You’re trying to free me from my worries. I ask You more often for guidance so that I am shining with happiness. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”

  8. Scripture states that God hasn’t given you the fearful spirit. God has not created this desire to be concerned, this fear and anxiety… Someone else has it: Satan. He would love nothing more than distract your attention from God and to make you feel like the person God desires to you to be. Many people are enticed by the thought of worrying however, if you give into that trap and constantly worry, you commit a commit a sin. Worrying is a sin!

The realization that obsessive worrying is a battle for the soul is the most important thing to do. It first makes you aware that you cannot beat worry on your own. As a Christian, you are a part of Christ. He is never worried about your worries, and He wants you to surrender all of your worries to Him.

  9. The majority of people who worry are in the cycle of fear and anxiety. These are the paralyzing effects of anxiety. The continuous cycle can be described as riding a hamster. It’s impossible to stop even if you’re exhausted! This type of anxiety is far beyond the normal level of concern and puts you in a perpetual feeling of a numbness that is painful. The anxiety agitates your mind and creates a complete chaos within your thoughts. Your thoughts are enthralled until you are unable to function or think about anything else.
