Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? — Psalm 2:1 KJV
Why do the nations rage, And the peoples meditate a vain thing? — Psalm 2:1 ASV
The verse highlights the natural human tendency to resist God. Nations and peoples often seek to go their own way, driven by pride and self-sufficiency. This rebellion is not only futile but also self-destructive.
While God is patient, giving people time to repent, He is also just. As believers, we are called to submit to God’s authority and trust in His plans. We should therefore align our lives with His will rather than conspiring against it.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to pray for the nations and peoples who conspire in vain against You. May they come to know Your love and surrender to Your lordship. Use me Lord as an instrument of Your peace spreading the message of Your salvation through Jesus Christ.
I thank You, Father, for Your patience and mercy. Guide me daily to walk in obedience and trust, knowing that Your ways are higher than mine. In all things, may Your name be glorified.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
