Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. — Psalm 75:1 KJV
We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds. — Psalm 75:1 NIV
Reflection on Verse for Today
“What a great God we serve!” is a common exclamation. These words are accurate in a way that is beyond our comprehension; they are more than just the lyrics to a song. It defies comprehension that he could be so all-encompassing, magnificent, and powerful while at the same time knowing us and bestowing upon us his individual attention and concern. However, God chose to remind us through the birth of Jesus that he is not only God Almighty, but also Immanuel, which means “God with us.”
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am so grateful for being gracious, and for being so near. Thank you, Lord, for being who you are. This is the most important thing. In the name of Jesus Christ, I want to extend my gratitude and thankfulness to you. Amen.
