Reflection on Verse for Today

We need to watch our human tendency to elevate and idolize leaders which potentially leading to the pitfalls of power and pride. Gideon’s example teaches us to avoid these traps by keeping our focus on God and remembering that all power and authority ultimately belong to Him.

As Christians we need to reflect on who or what rules our lives and encourages us to submit to the Lordship of God in every aspect of our lives. By doing so, we ensure that our lives are aligned with God’s will, and we bring glory to our heavenly King.

My Prayer

Father, instill in us a heart that seeks Your will above all else. Remind us daily that we are not the rulers of our own lives, but rather, we are Your children, living under Your gracious and loving Kingship. May we always point others towards You, ensuring that in all things, Your name is glorified.

We thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ our King of Kings and Lord of Lords to show us the way to You. May we strive to follow His example of humility and obedience, living our lives in a manner that is pleasing to You.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
