Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. — 1 Peter 2:24 KJV
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. — 1 Peter 2:24 NIV
This is a call to continual reflection on the cost of our freedom and healing, inspiring gratitude, humility, and a renewed commitment to living a life that reflects the transformative power of Jesus’ sacrifice. Our journey towards righteousness is not a solitary one but is supported by the grace of God, the fellowship of believers, and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit.
My Prayer
Lord, I pray for the strength and the will to die to sin daily, to resist the temptations that so easily entangle, and to live a life that reflects Your righteousness. Help me to remember the cost of my freedom and to honor Your sacrifice through my thoughts, words, and actions. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
