A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. –Psalm 112:5 KJV
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. — Psalm 112:5 NIV
Reflection
Being generous is putting one’s love into action while maintaining a joyful attitude. Both generosity and justice are qualities that are increasingly undervalued in our self-centered culture. Generosity and justice are also characteristics of God, who has described himself as having a righteous character, gracious compassion, and justice with trustworthy lovingkindness These three qualities make their way into our world through hearts that have been moved by the generosity, faithfulness, and love of our Father.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know that there will be persons I will come in contact with today that require me to be generous with my love, my time, my forgiveness, and my financial resources. Please lend me your help in dealing justly and lovingly with them, just as you have done with me. I pray that my life will be an example of your grace to those who are in need of your love. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
