Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. — Proverbs 10:6 KJV
Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. — Proverbs 10:6 NIV
Reflection
The path of righteousness leads to an abundance of blessings for us. Those who choose to engage in violent behavior will inevitably experience the same negative consequences they inflict on others. So, what do we decide to do? Do they bring blessings or violence? A word of encouragement or an offensive mouth? So, what are the actual options available? Allowing God, and not another person, to define one’s character.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want to live a life that is pleasing to you, one that is characterized by upright character and generous compassion. This is the kind of life I want to live. Father, I want to share your grace and your kingdom with the people around me. I want to make other people understand that violence is detrimental not only to themselves but also to other people and especially to the younger generation. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
