And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. — Nehemiah 1:4 KJV
When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. — Nehemiah 1:4 NIV
Today's Verse Reflection
Nehemiah’s story inspires us to consider what “broken walls” exist in our own lives and community that we are called to help rebuild. Whether it’s mending relationships, serving those in need, or standing up for justice, Nehemiah’s example challenges us to take action grounded in prayer and faith.
As Christians, we are part of a larger body of believers and we are called to work together to bring healing and restoration to our communities and the world. It challenges us to consider how we can take initiative and lead by example just as Nehemiah did in responding to God’s call to repair and rebuild.
