I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. — Luke 15:7 KJV

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. — Luke 15:7 NIV

Reflection on Verse for Today

Remember that each of us is immensely valuable in the eyes of God and there is no limit to His forgiveness for those who sincerely turn back to Him. The ninety-nine righteous persons are those who are already in communion with God and abide in His ways but yet, the emphasis is placed on the one who was lost but is now found.

While it is essential to walk in righteousness, it is equally vital to maintain a humble and compassionate heart, recognizing that all are in need of God’s grace. It is also a challenge for us to embrace a life of continual transformation, to rejoice in the salvation of others, and to embody the love and grace that God so freely gives.

My Prayer

Father, create in me a humble and compassionate heart so that I may never become complacent in my spiritual journey. Remind me of the joy that each saved soul brings to Your heavenly kingdom inspiring me to live a life of service and love in accordance with Your will.

Thank You Father for Your unfailing love and mercy and even for rejoicing over each soul that returns to You, and for welcoming us all with open arms. I pray this in the precious Name of Your Son Jesus, Amen.
