I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. — John 17:15 KJV
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. — John 17:15 NIV
Reflection
Jesus’ demonstration of love and concern for his disciples in prayer before God is a wonderful model for us to follow. He teaches us that we are obligated to, that we should, and that we have the ability to pray for the spiritual protection of those we care about from God.
My Prayer
Please take the throne of glory in my life, Loving and Tender Shepherd, you who are the magnificent Guardian of the Flock. Please ensure their safety, both physically and spiritually, especially those whom I have serious worries and concern. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
