Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. — John 15:3 KJV
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. — John 15:3 NIV
Reflection on Verse for Today
This is a powerful reminder of the cleansing power of Jesus’ words in our lives. In this verse, Jesus says, “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.”
At the heart of this verse is the truth that Jesus’ words have the power to transform us from the inside out. When we receive his words with open hearts and minds, they have the power to convict us of sin, guide us in righteousness, and renew our minds.
In many ways, this process of being cleansed by Jesus’ words is ongoing. As we continue to follow him and abide in him, we are continually challenged and transformed by his words. The more we allow his words to penetrate our hearts and minds, the more we become like him and reflect his character to the world around us.
It’s important to note that this cleansing process is not something we can do on our own. Rather, it is a work of the Holy Spirit in us, as we surrender ourselves to Jesus and allow him to transform us by his word.
So as we reflect on this verse, we can be encouraged that Jesus’ words have the power to cleanse us and transform us in ways that we could never do on our own. We can trust in his faithfulness and love, and continue to abide in him and his word, knowing that he will continue to transform us into his likeness.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am reminded of the powerful cleansing that comes through your word. Thank you for the truth that we are made clean through the words that Jesus has spoken to us.
As I seek to abide in you and your word, I pray that you would continue to transform me from the inside out. Convict me of sin, guide me in righteousness, and renew my mind, so that I may reflect your character to the world around me.
I surrender myself to you, asking that you would continue to work in me through the power of the Holy Spirit. Cleanse me of anything that would hinder my relationship with you, and help me to grow in intimacy with you day by day.
May your word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, guiding me in all that I do. I ask that you would grant me wisdom and discernment to discern your will and to follow where you lead.
Thank you for your faithfulness and your love, which never fail. May my life bring glory and honor to you in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
