Reflection for Today's Verse

Only those who acknowledge their guilt and turn away from their sins can have peace with God. To be resurrected by the Lord and liberated from the dungeon of sin, one must first have a contrite heart and a humble spirit. Only those who have these qualities will be saved. To be deemed righteous and to be readmitted into fellowship with the majestic and exalted God, Whose name is holy and Who rides on the wings of the wind, only those who believe the Word of God are eligible for these blessings.

One must have a humble spirit and a contrite heart in order to be revived. No one else qualifies. Those who put their trust in God’s love and mercy by placing their hope in Jesus Christ as the atoning sacrifice for their sins are the only ones who will be revived, redeemed, and restored. The only people who will be consoled in all of their deep distresses are those who have a contrite heart and faith in His Word.

Because He is the only High and Lofty One who lives forever and ever, and His name is holy, He will renew the spirit of every man and woman who walks humbly before Him, and He will give courage to those who are crushed by the burden of sin. He will do this because He is the only One who is worthy of being called the High and Lofty One.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, truly You are from eternity to everlasting, have stooped to save and console me as well as to dwell within my heart by faith..Thank you that you never ceases to astonish me, and it never will. I pray that you would keep me low at the cross and humble before you, that you would cultivate in me a heart that is lowly and contrite, and that you would revive my spirit within me. I give You praise for Your goodness and grace, Your mercy and love, and I pray that I may be able to glorify You today with my body, with my words, and with my actions. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
