Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. — Ephesians 6:22 KJV

I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you. — Ephesians 6:22 NIV

Reflection on Verse for Today

Tychicus is truly a model for all Christians today who acted as a messenger not just of the Gospel but also of emotional and spiritual sustenance for the believers during the early church. He had shown love and commitment, and the service for the church. These traits that each of us should strive to cultivate in our own lives as we interact with our faith communities.

So let’s take a lesson and strive to be messengers of comfort and encouragement in our own communities. Our aim must be to fortify each other’s faith and to uplift each other’s spirits while we strengthen the bonds that hold us together as a church community. And by so doing we are not only helping each other but also glorifying God from whom all blessings flow.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray for those who need encouragement and comfort today. May they feel Your presence and experience Your peace, knowing that they are not alone in their journey. Send Your servants to them, Father, as You sent Tychicus to the Ephesians, so that they may be strengthened and inspired.

Help me to always remember that the Christian walk is a communal journey, not meant to be undertaken in isolation but in loving relationship with others. Give me the wisdom to nurture these relationships as I strive to serve You faithfully.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
