Reflection on Verse for Today
Because they do not want to give up some things for God, a great number of people reject him. They may present it as an academic argument, but they frequently do not want to submit their will to God since doing so would require them to give up a value that conflicts with God’s nature. Many evangelists are aware that convincing such people of the truth using intellectual arguments is rare. Instead, before people can understand that God’s demand for holiness in them is because he is their ally, not their enemy, they must get to know Jesus and his selfless love for them.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your sanctity and love. Thank you for sending Jesus to save me as a sign of both. I’m sorry I sometimes thought your pursuit of purity was harsh or overly demanding. I appreciate how much you love me by calling me to a holy life under your care and protection in addition to saving me through Jesus. I pray in His name. Amen.
