Reflection on Today's Verse
Anger is a real emotion, but it becomes dangerous when we allow it to settle in our hearts and shape our words or actions. Ephesians 4:26 reminds us that we can feel anger without letting it lead us into sin. Instead of holding on to resentment, God calls us to deal with hurt honestly, seek peace when possible, and refuse to let bitterness grow.
Sometimes the hardest part is not becoming angry, it is choosing what we do next. We can react quickly, or we can ask God for wisdom, patience, and self-control. Forgiveness may take time, but every step toward releasing anger makes more room in our hearts for God’s peace.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father, when I feel angry, help me not to be controlled by my emotions. Give me wisdom before I speak, patience before I react, and humility when I need to forgive.
Please remove bitterness and resentment from my heart. Help me deal with conflict in a way that honors You and brings peace wherever possible. Teach me to respond with grace, remembering how much grace You have shown me.
Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Let Your peace rule in my heart.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
