Reflection

Heaven is something that can only be perceived with the heart. When we are feeling down, discouraged, or uncertain, we need to “enlighten” the eyes of our hearts so that we can see clearly. It is necessary for the dawn to break over our gloom, and we can now see the dawn of hope and the riches that are our inheritance. Singing them, praying about them, and reading God’s promises that contain them are sometimes the only ways to keep these things in mind when things appear to be going poorly.

My Prayer

My only hope is in you, O God. I have faith in you and the promises you make. But I must confess that there are times, like even right now, when I struggle with my confidence that you will act in response to my prayers and do what I have entrusted you with my life to do. I pray that you will hear my prayers and do what I have entrusted you with so that I may live. Kindle my passion and fill me with your Spirit, so that I may serve you with boldness and share your grace with others. Please fill me with your Spirit and comfort me when I have doubts. I pray to you, Lord Jesus, through whom I live. Amen.
