But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. — Luke 11:28 KJV
He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” — Luke 11:28 NIV
Reflection
The Bible is God’s gift to us. That blessing is ours to enjoy when we do what he wants. However, when we know God’s will and don’t obey it, we are foolish, as Jesus emphasized at the end of the Sermon on the Mount. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d much rather be blessed than cursed. We give thanks to God that he has communicated with us both in written form (the Bible) and in living form (his Son) so that we may learn his will and follow in his favor.
My Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for how Bible has helped me understand your will. I praise you for your desire to keep harm away from me and your blessing. In the past, I have disregarded your will and failed to be submissive. Intently following your guidance and instructions, I pray that you will help devote my life to serving you from this day forward. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
