And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
Thought and Reflection
Every time I pray, I regularly get myself essentially needing God to do what I need, not really what is ideal or generally convenient for everyone around me or to bring about some benefit for the Kingdom. I generally prefer not to hear that God told Paul that he had asked enough about deliverance from his concern.
All things considered, Paul expected to learn that God’s thoughtful strength and mercy were to the point of sustaining him even in trial. While I realize I want to learn this same lesson, it is overwhelming. I need God to keep things overall quite clean for me. However when I recollect that I am a follower of Christ.
If I am to become like my Savior, then, at that point, I need to relinquish my prerequisites on God’s responses and open up to God’s work to recover others through me, regardless of the cost. Only then would I be able to genuinely realize that His grace is sufficient for me!
My Prayer
Heavenly loving Father, guard my heart from any form of discouragement in difficult times and guard it from pride in good times. I know that without You — I have nothing that is permanent.
Thanks for giving me a steadfast hope of heaven with You, because of Your grace and mercy shared with me. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
