Thought and Reflection

John has been reminding us that we must love our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is the key. This is the clincher. If we love God, we must also love our brothers and sister in Christ. It is important to note that the word “should” does not mean “will try”, “will attempt”, or “want to”. We must.

The Bible does not contain many “must do” and “thou shalt” commands. God’s message is clear. The love of one another is not something that can be delayed, negotiable or optional. God sent Jesus Christ to pay for all the sins of God’s children. Paul will tell the Corinthians that God’s love compels him to love. Love is essential.

My Prayer

Lord, I am sorry for my insensitive love of Your children. I ask for your blessing, nourishment, and support of my brothers and sister in Christ.

I am praying for Your children who are going through great trials and heavy burdens. Allow me to minister to them in tangible ways. I pray in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
