Reflection on Verse for Today

We learn that God’s heart and mind are to save humanity, redeem creation, sanctify us, and lead us into all truth. Having the mentality of Christ allows us to experience heaven, see His splendor, comprehend His love, and appreciate the magnificent fact that God the Father wants to redeem humanity from sin and grant us benefits that are beyond our comprehension.

And the Holy Spirit will train us, correct us, lead us, and guide us into all truth when our life is committed to Him, in humbling dependence and innocent trust—just as the Holy Spirit of God led and directed the Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly life. Christ walked the path of the Cross spiritually because He exercised and gained obedience through His suffering.

Christ obeyed the Father by going to the Cross because His constant prayer was “THY will be done” (THY). Christ went to the Cross in order to save His people Israel, and He prayed, “Lord forgive them for they know not what they do,” out of love for His people and for everyone who would believe. He went to the Cross out of love for the Church and bore the suffering there in order to experience the joy that was waiting for Him. The Son of God, who is also known as God the Son, rejected the disgrace and opened His loving arms to ALL who would place their faith in Him.

To access the thought of the Almighty Son of God as we abide in Him and He in us, Christians must equally follow the same spiritual road as their heavenly Lord, with the same humble mind and teachable disposition as was demonstrated in the life of Christ Jesus our Lord.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, I’m grateful to You, that I have the mind of Christ. Lord, please take my life and dedicate it to You. Help me to live like Jesus did, in humbling obedience before You and only accomplishing the things You would have me do. Use my heart and mind for Your glory. Help me live for You alone and forsake all of my carnal tendencies because I want to live in spirit and truth for Your honour and glory. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
