By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. — 1 Corinthians 15:2 KJV
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. — 1 Corinthians 15:2 NIV
Thought and Reflection
What saves us? How God helped us in Jesus! We should make a commitment to not allow anything to cause us to surrender our trust and reliance upon that expectation, that Gospel by which we are saved. There could be no other name, no other Gospel, no other message that can give us salvation.
We don’t have to add anything more to it. We should never allow anybody to remove anything from it. How about we hold immovably to this confidence, this trust, in God’s grace given to us in Jesus.
My Prayer
Dear Father, I confide in no other God except for You. I confide in no other Gospel except for the narrative of your adoration and grace in Jesus. As the old psalm so perfectly puts it, I ask dear Father that I may “never at any point, outlast my adoration for Thee.” In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
