Reflection
God is on our side! This is the most important takeaway from the narrative of Jesus’ life. This is the tidings of comfort that Zephaniah brings to the disenfranchised people of God. God is right here with us. He is powerful enough to save. He has affection for us. He delights in us. Through his gentle touch, he calms the raging seas that rage within our hearts. He soothes us to sleep with songs of happiness. God has a deep desire to be in communion with us, and he extends an invitation to do just that. What kind of a response do you plan to give?
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, bolster my determination as I turn away from wickedness and attempt to get closer to you in this new chapter of my life. I do not want to have a relationship with you that is merely superficial. There is no false representation of you that I desire. I want to know you. I long to be in the presence of you and to serve as a channel through which you work your grace in the lives of others. My spirit is restless, and I need to be in your company so that it can find peace. I am grateful that you are nearby. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
