O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. — Psalm 8:1 KJV
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. — Psalm 8:1 NIV
Thought and Reflection
These concepts appear to be incompatible or unrelated. God’s name seems majestic in the plain transitory space that we call Earth, but on the other hand, He is also glorious and above all the highest heavens. The life of Israel shows this collision between different worlds.
It is clearly demonstrated in Jesus’ life, death, resurrection. We will see the glory of God in it, and we will share in the glory of heavens one day because we boldly proclaim the majesty our LORD God on Earth.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus’ promise that if I honor You and confess Him on this earth, you will gladly honor me and call my name in the presence of Your mighty angels when the time comes for me to stand before Your throne. In Jesus name that I praise You. Amen.
