Reflection for Today's Verse

We are the people of God, and our salvation comes from the Lord himself. He will be ours till the end of time, and we will be His until the end of eternity. He selected us long before the world was even created, and he fashioned each of us individually while we were still in our mother’s wombs. We have been fashioned in awe–inspiring and wondrous ways, and the things that God has formed are indeed wondrous to see.

The Lord is the one who has redeemed my spirit, who has fallen in love with my soul, and who has made his home within this physical body of mine. He is the one to whom I must turn in any and all situations of life, and in every season of my wanderings on earth, He is the one who comforts and sustains me. He is the only one.

When I wander away from His side, I am obligated to immediately turn around and seek Him with every fiber of my being. Because He is the Lord and there is no other, it is imperative that I seek His favor with every fiber of my being. Even while He uses the force of His power to hold the world up, He has nevertheless become the Comforter of my soul. He pulled me out of the muck and clay and laid my feet atop the solid rock. Those who were hungry have been satisfied with good things, but those who were rich have been sent away empty.

Let us begin our pursuit of God early and with all sincerity, because the lovingkindness of God is more precious than life itself. Let us yearn for Him with fervent longing and seek Him without ceasing… and let us supplicate to Him each and every day “O Lord, You are MY God. I shall start my search for you early. My own being longs to be in your presence. My physical being thirsts for You in this parched and arid place where there is no water to be found.”

My Prayer

O Lord, my God, my Saviour, my Jesus. I praise You. In this parched and thirsty desert, I give thanks that You are my God and that You are the source of the living water of life that satisfies the need in my heart. I give thanks that You are the Rock that I stand upon and the heavenly Lover of my soul, regardless of where I am or the circumstances in which I find myself. Please accept my thanks on behalf of my soul. I hope that my love and passion for You would increase each morning, for You are the only one who can satisfy my inner need and understand the deepest cry of my heart. I pray that my love and passion for You would expand each morning. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
