In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. — Psalm 56:4 KJV
In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? — Psalm 56:4 NIV
Bible Verse Reflection
After all is finished it’s clear that there isn’t much that we can put our trust in. Many of us have suffered at one point or another by a person who betrayed our confidence. The global economy is unstable and can be sour within a matter of days. The weather changes and shifts every hour.
However, in the midst of change, through our disappointment and heartbreak, there is one constant. We can believe in God. We do not have to be worried about the future. The Lord is the anchor who can withstand the most severe storms. We can count on Him to be our most reliable strength even in our most difficult battles. His words and promises speak good things for us. We don’t need to worry, we can put our trust in His word and promises.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me not to worry about the coming days. I thank you for the strength and endurance of your people Israel throughout the course of history.
I praise You for keeping your Word that is the Scriptures in the face of persecution and purges. I thank You that my existence and future is in Your control. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
