But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. — Psalm 5:11 KJV
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. — Psalm 5:11 NIV
Reflection on Verse for Today
David had a desire for other people to have the same prosperous and fruitful connection with God as he did. He was a man after God’s own heart, and his desires were identical to God’s desires. He was a man after God’s own heart. Because of this, he prayed that those who revere the Lord would be granted favor and blessings. He desired for them to have an understanding of the benefits that come from obeying God. He longed for the upright to enjoy a life filled with blessings.
It is wonderful to be joyful and have a great time in a particular circumstance or place in our lives; however, the joy and satisfaction we can experience when we are conscious that God’s Presence is with us in that scenario, elevates to an entirely new level! God has a desire for us to enjoy life and walk in peace and love, but an even greater desire is for us to walk with Him in peace and love so that we might experience the glories of life alongside Him.
My Prayer
Praise be to you, glorious God and compassionate Father, for the graciousness of your kindness, the awesomeness of your holiness, the abundance of your forgiveness, and the unending depth of your love. You are the source of both my optimism and my protection. You are the reason I have faith. In Jesus name. Amen.
