Reflection
God the Father, in His mercy and generosity, sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to spread the message that those who are meek will hear good news that will bring them great joy. He came to heal those whose hearts had been shattered, to proclaim release to those who were captives, and to announce the opening of prison gates to those who were bound by sin and by death.
And there will come a day when He will declare the year of favor for the Lord, as well as the day of vengeance for our God, at the same time that He will comfort those who are in mourning and wipe away every tear.
Our faithful God, in His loving-kindness and great mercy, has given us His written word. This word testifies of His goodness and grace towards His people, and it also declares the eternal truth of the glorious gospel of grace, which is that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
My Prayer
Dear God, I thank You that You are close to all whose hearts have been broken and that You are close to all those whose spirits have been crushed.
Thank you for the testimonies of those who have gone before us, which show that you are a trustworthy God, whose compassion is renewed each morning.
How we praise You, for You are a witness to Your Word, which is that You are a God who not only saves, but also keeps, helps, comforts, and provides for all those who are called by Your name. In Jesus name that I praise You. Amen.
