But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. — Psalm 1:2 KJV
But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. — Psalm 1:2 NIV
Reflection
To demonstrate that we are worthy of approval, we are to study. We are to remain constant in His Word and to spend a lot of time reflecting on it. We are to take in His Word, by faith, with thanksgiving, and we are to be continually nourished by the milk and meat of the written Word of God. We are to feed on His Word. And as a consequence of this, we shall advance in sanctification and in our understanding of the Lord Jesus, who is the slain, resurrected, ascended, and ever-living Word of God, and who is presently enthroned at the right hand of the Father.
The more we make an effort to spend time with the Lord, the more intimate our fellowship with the Father will become, and the more engrossed we will become in the incomparably valuable Word that He has given us.
We will continue to be transformed into the lovely likeness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to Whom be all praise and glory. The more we delight in the law of the Lord and take the time to truly meditate upon the pure, written Word of God, the more we will grow in grace and the more we will continue to be transformed.
