Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. — Proverbs 19:2 KJV
Desire without knowledge is not good—how much more will hasty feet miss the way! — Proverbs 19:2 NIV
Daily Bible Verse Reflection
Perhaps one of the most crucial actions we can take to develop spiritually is to discover the right subjects to get excited about. We are able to get passionate over the most insignificant things. It is possible to get extremely enthusiastic about anything from chocolate pie to sports. However, zeal, or passion for a cause, should be anchored in spiritual wisdom and knowledge.
It is possible to get enthralled about something only to fail to follow the direction of the Lord because we are distracted by our own desires. As much as I desire zealous individuals close to me, I would like that they be enthusiastic for God’s purposes as well as for Kingdom issues.
My Prayer
Lord God, I find it easy to be all wound up about something only to lose my enthusiasm for it the next day or when I’m so motivated to take action that I get off in a half-hearted manner and end up doing a great deal of harm.
Grant me the ability to see the best, the right and honest. Father, teach me to honor and serve You and bless others with Your name. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
