Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. — Philippians 2:14-16 KJV

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. Bible Verse Reflection

Stars are always a symbol for constant hope for the people of God. “Your descendants will be like the stars,” God said to Abraham. “When I see the stars, what is man that you are mindful of him?” in the Psalms ask. The wise men from the East were able to follow a star towards Jesus. Luke tells us Jesus was a morning light star that came to us from the heavens to shine upon the darkness. Now, we’re stars. God’s shining points of light in the vast dark sky.

Therefore, let’s make today an opportunity to shine our shining light is a beacon of God’s glory to the dark world all around us.

My Prayer

Dear Father, the vast size of your universe with its billions of stars surpasses my understanding. Thank you for allowing me to become a source of illumination in the darkness around me.

Teach me to reflect Your light today to everyone. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
