Jesus is quoting an old fact that was commonplace at the time, however He was making use of the “strong man” saying to be referring to Satan. Satan is the one who was able to bind us with death and sin. Jesus entered the house and took our possessions because He was able to tie the strong man.
He accomplished this by becoming a human being and then battling death with total respect for God and then rising out of the grave to overcome death and bring us back to the gift of life! Praise God! Jesus entered the strong man’s house. He fought him off and tied him. What did He bring out from the strong man’s house? The treasure he buried! That treasure is us.
