As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses. — Joshua 11:15 KJV
As the Lord commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and Joshua did it; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses. — Joshua 11:15 NIV
Reflection
Joshua is one of the biblical heroes that stands out to me the most. Moses counted on him as one of his most trusted servants. When he saw the Promised Land, he did not allow himself to be influenced in any way by his contemporaries or by the crowd. It wasn’t easy for him, yet he managed to both follow in the footsteps of a great leader and become a great leader himself. Joshua maintained his youthful strength and vitality far into his senior years. First and foremost, Joshua was obedient to God. He carried out every single command that God had given to him, as well as every single command that God had given to Moses regarding what Joshua should accomplish. To put it another way, Joshua was trustworthy.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that when people look back on the tale of my life, they will remember me as someone who obediently did everything that you required of me. I want to serve you with a heart that is completely devoted to you and a life that brings you the glory and acclaim you deserve for the graciousness with which you have blessed others. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
