Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. — John 6:27 KJV
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. — John 6:27 NIV
Thought and Reflection
What do you spend most of your time doing? Is it a big time boss, a job promotion or a feeling of significance or a safe lifestyle? If it is to be taken from you, or you could be removed from it, then it’s not lasting is it?
Only what Jesus provides us with is eternal, and is the result of God’s grace. What can you do to be more committed to the work to ensure that your work endures to eternal life?
My Prayer
Let my thoughts be clear, my dear Father and I can see clearly what I’m pursuing in my own life. Help me to find ways to invest my time and effort in those things that will never end. Truly I need Your help in finding my value to You in the relationship I have with You, and not in what I create, do produce, create, and achieve.
Thank You for Your forgiveness and strength by committing me to seeking Your presence above all else. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
