Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. — Joel 2:23 KJV
Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. — Joel 2:23 NIV
Thought and Reflection
“The requests go up and the gifts come down…” The words to this song are just half right, since God sends His favors and blessings commonly so many times, even when we don’t ask or pray.
However, similarly as we love the extraordinary smell that accompanies a dry spell breaking rain, God cherishes the fragrance of His children’s joy, particularly when He is the wellspring of its enjoyment.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are my extraordinary joy. At the point when all others fail, You are still God. You are my rock and fortress, You are my tender shepherd, and You are my strong mountain that can’t be shaken or moved. Your grace and blessings shower downward on me and fill me with joy and happiness.
I can hardly hang tight for the day I get to see You up close and personal and take pleasure in Your presence until the end of time. Up to that point, I will cheer in expectation. In Jesus’ magnificent name I ask. Amen.
