Reflection on Verse for Today
We who have placed our faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and have received the Gospel, the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, and the living Word’s instruction in every truth have already realized that only Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy. The reality that Jesus is the righteous Branch of David, Who will uphold justice and righteousness on earth, has already dawned on us.
The kingdom of heaven will once more be at hand, and Israel as a nation will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation and cry out in unison, “BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.” But a day is coming when the entire house of Israel and Judah—the united Kingdom of Israel—will collectively respond to the clarion call to repent.
Christ will return in the clouds of glory in those days and at that time (with the recently raptured Church – you and me and every member of His Body). When Israel cries out, “HOSANNAH – blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord,” He will answer. Jesus, the righteous Branch of David, will establish His kingdom of justice, righteousness, and peace on earth for all men of good will on that day and at that hour, when He sets foot on the Mount of Olives.
My Prayer
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the reassuring prophecies in the book of Jeremiah that Christ, the righteous Branch of David, would come again as King of kings to build His reign and bring about justice and righteousness on earth. I pray for those who have not yet placed their confidence in Christ, especially those from the houses of Israel and Judah. I thank You that I have already placed my faith in Him for my salvation. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
