But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. — James 3:17-18 KJV
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. — James 3:17-18 NIV
Thought and Reflection
Now we need to understand the reason why righteousness is difficult to find: It’s because there aren’t many sowers. Wisdom from heaven is a sacrificial earthly action. This is a powerful reminder for me that wisdom isn’t the things you can learn, but rather what you plant.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing purity, peace-making and consideration, as well as submissiveness and mercy, good fruit, honesty as well as sincerity, in Jesus.
I pray for the strength and courage to display these traits in my life as I strive to be like Jesus. In Jesus Name, I ask. Amen.
