Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. — Isaiah 51:6 KJV
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. — Isaiah 51:6 NIV
Thought and Reflection
I do not know about you but you’ll find that Bible is so brutally honest that it is painful. We believe that this world and planet to have existed for many years ago and believe that it will remain here for longer. However, God warns us everything is only temporary.
It’s even more temporary as flies: we’re here for only a short time, and the next thing we know, we’re gone. However, we’re not completely gone! Christians are not gone forever from the temporary life on earth since our lives are entwined to Christ through God’s grace, which is eternal and God’s righteousness which cannot be broken or shattered.
My Prayer
Oh God who listens to my prayers and helps me prepare for my journey, thanks for Your certainty that my life as a Christian is beyond the borders that death can create, as well as the limits of my humanness and the vulnerability of my flaws.
Thank you for my being dependent on You and Your salvation, and thanks to Jesus you look at me as Your holy and righteous child. In Jesus name I give You praise. Amen.
