Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. — Hebrews 13:2 KJV
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. — Hebrews 13:2 NIV
Thought and Reflection
How do you welcome neighbors to your apartment or neighborhood? How welcoming are you to visitors to your church or Bible study group? Have you ever invited someone to dinner with you or in your Christian friendship group? Some people have the gift and ability to host, but all Christians need to be open and welcoming to those who don’t know them.
Make a commitment to welcome one person each week at church. We can make a big difference in the lives and circumstances of those who seek the refuge and grace of Jesus and His followers, even though we live in an impersonal world.
My Prayer
Lord God please help me and my congregation to be more welcoming to newcomers and visitors. We can help them find a Christian home and share Your grace. In Jesus name. Amen.
