Reflection on Verse for Today

Although Israel has a long history of breaking covenant vows, the Lord’s promise to His people is still valid today, just as it was when they were getting ready to cross the Jordan into the promised land. Even though they will eventually experience the punishment of the Great Tribulation, God will complete the work He began in His people, Israel, on that first Passover Day. His promise is still valid today.

We have God’s infallible Word just like in earlier times. Additionally, God has given us countless assurances that He will guide us and lay out our paths. He has promised to accompany us on our journey, remain by our side through all of life’s challenges, never abandon us, and ultimately take us to be with Him for all eternity.

We have the wonderful assurance from God that He won’t abandon us, so let’s never be fearful or discouraged. And let’s never forget that we may put our faith in God’s Word. Thank God because He is loyal even when we are weak and our confidence wavers because His Word is real and He is unable to deny Himself.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, I’m grateful to You for the truth found in the Bible. Although I know that today we must live by faith in Your Word and not by sight, there are times when I wish I could see the Shekinah glory or follow a pillar of fire. Thank You for Your promises to be by my side, to guide and lead me, to keep me safe, and to meet all of my needs in accordance with Your glorious riches. I give thanks to Your holy name since Your Word is true in regard to both Israel and the Church. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
