I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. — Psalm 18:1-2 KJV
I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. — Psalm 18:1-2 NIV
Thought and Reflection
We sing it and use it in our prayers to God in public: “Father, God, we love You.” Take note of the first line of our hymn. “I love You, Lord! …” even in worship services that are public and communal We are taught that it is important to make an expression of our affection to God.
When was the last time you’ve told God, the creator of all things, “I love you!”
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I love You. I cherish You because You’re far more worthy than my affection. I am in love with You because You first taken me in Your arms and have loved me. I cherish You because You chose to send Your Son to become my big brother, and paid the cost of my adoption to Your family.
I am grateful for your loyalty. I appreciate that you have allowed me, through Your grace, to cherish You. In Jesus name I give You praise. Amen.
