The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. — Psalm 34:22 KJV
The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. — Psalm 34:22 NIV
Reflection
David gives thanks to the Lord for rescuing him from the hands of the Philistines, and he asks others to join him in joyfully singing to the Lord in response to his deliverance. He praises the value of having reverence for the Lord and keeping in mind the benevolence of God.
He exhorts those who worship the Lord to show reverence for God and imparts advice that will lead to a happy and fruitful life. At the end of this psalm, David makes a point to emphasize the separation that the Lord makes between the upright and the wicked. He has compassion for those who are upright and does not condemn them; nevertheless, He does judge those who are wicked.
My Prayer
I commit both my life and my future to you, O LORD, for you are the God of the heavens and the earth. I ask that You use me to bless other people as I carry out Your will. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
