The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. — Proverbs 10:8 KJV
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. — Proverbs 10:8 NIV
Reflection
A person who seeks out wisdom with all his heart is teachable. He realizes that he doesn’t know everything. He longs to receive good advice. The unteachable is, on the other hand, a coarse, hardened person who is so busy talking that he doesn’t have time to listen and learn from wise counsel. The “scoffer”, who refuses to follow godly commands, will meet a tragic end in his life.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, who searches minds and hearts, give me an inquiring mind that longs to please and obey you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
