Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth. — 1 Corinthians 10:24 KJV
No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. — 1 Corinthians 10:24 NIV
Thought and Reflection
Isn’t it fascinating that the more we attempt to make things better for ourselves as we get more focused in “looking out for number 1,” and the more often we are left out of real connections that can make life worth living. “If you want to have a friend, then be a friend,” the saying is. What do you think? It’s right! It’s simple to look for the things that are only for our own benefit.
This is what people do, of routine. What is it that makes Christians truly redemptive, and the thing that makes them like God is their ability to consider others above their own needs.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me since I know that I’m usually self-centered and don’t think about the consequences of my choices in relation to the requirements of other people. I’d like to live with the heart of Christ and to be more selfless and sacrifice-oriented to all who need Your mercy and the love that You have placed in me to give them.
Thank You for blessing me as I strive to be like Jesus in this aspect that I live in. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
