I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:14 KJV
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:14 NIV
Thought and Reflection
The best way for navigating a tightrope is to keep one’s eye on the target and not look down at the ground, nor looking to our shoulders at what’s behind.
The best way to walk with Jesus is to keep our eyes at the goal, the victory that is waiting for us at the time of His return and not look down at the ground (our failings) and not on what lies behind (our achievements). The purpose of the Christian walk is to continue moving towards Jesus until we are walking with Jesus in heaven.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I’m looking for the day that You will call my name, and go hand in hand with me.
In the meantime I ask You to help me focus my eyes on the person You would like me to be instead of what I’ve done. In Your mercy and in the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
