Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father. — 1 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV
We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. — 1 Thessalonians 1:3 NIV
Reflection for Today's Verse
May we follow in the footsteps of the Thessalonian Christians, whose service was inspired by love, whose good actions were propelled by faith, and who never wavered in their expectation of the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May we actively rely on Him in all of our acts of faith. The perseverance of our hope in Christ Jesus, our Lord, may inspire others to carry out acts of faith, to work in love, and to remain steadfast in the blessed hope we have in the Lord Jesus – in the presence of our God and Father. May our labor of love become a living sacrifice that honors our Father in thought, word, and deed.X
My Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for the inspiration we receive from the Thessalonian Christians’ example of virtuous living that glorifies You through their work of faith, labor of love, and unwavering hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that as I learn more about Christ, my Savior, and develop in grace, I can do everything to Your greater honor and glory. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
