As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. — 1 Peter 2:2-3 KJV
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. — 1 Peter 2:2-3 NIV
Bible Verse Reflection
Salvation is a very precious thing. But, we are aware that there is something seriously wrong when children continue to remain within the same position in their development and maturation. Uncontrolled development in an individual child is a source of anxiety. Hebrews 6 reminds us of this it is the same for the spiritual realms.
God is not interested in us to remain immature. He desires that we keep growing. The Lord would like us to seek out the good things and to seek out the things that build us up. So what are you going take today? What can you do to fill your cravings and to grow within the Lord?
My Prayer
Dear God, thank You for being my God and loving me and saving my life. I truly want to grow in Your mercy. Please bless me today as I strive to model good habits and nourish my spiritual life with things that aid me in my growth.
Lord I am aware that true growth comes from You. I pray that You strengthen me with Your power when I strive to live your character. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
