Reflection on Verse for Today

We were God’s creation and belonged to Him, but because man disobeyed God’s laws, we sold ourselves into slavery. By rebelling against the One who created us to be connected with Himself in love, we achieved this rebellion against a holy God. By severing our connection to the Lord intimately, we doomed ourselves to an eternity apart from Him. But God saved us by His grace. God paid our redemption at a great cost out of His boundless love.

The price paid by God to free us from enemy’s influence and the meaningless lifestyle we had inherited from our fathers was the highest price ever paid to reclaim something that belonged to the buyer in the first place. We were, however, purchased with the priceless blood of Christ, the only begotten Son of God, not with corruptible things like silver or gold.

Let’s question ourselves once more, “What do we believe to be precious in our life?” while we ponder these things.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, the price You paid to save me from the empty life I inherited as a member of the human race cannot be adequately expressed in words. Thank You for giving me eternal life through grace and faith. Glory to your name forever. In Jesus name. Amen.
