My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. — 1 John 3:18 KJV
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. — 1 John 3:18 NIV
Thought and Reflection
It is a fact that to truly love in the real sense is not something we can achieve by ourselves, no matter how difficult we may try! We can’t love in deed and in truth by the training program or mental effort or physical effort. To love with deeds as well as in the truth, is divine love that is directly from God. He is the only source of love and only manifested in the life of every believer who lives in the faith and in the truth.
Love in spirit through word, actions, and in honesty is demonstrated in the lives of those who has given up the self-life, is a part of Christ and can say along with Apostle Paul, “It is not I that live my life, but Christ, Whose life is in me and living through me.”
My Prayer
Father in heaven, I admit to You that there are times when I am selfish. Sometimes, my intentions are right, but my actions and my faithfulness lack.
Strengthen me by Your Spirit and empower me to become what I would like to be to the glory of your Name. Your love will be evident in my actions that show genuine concern for today. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
