Reflection

The imagery of a “good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over” evokes a sense of abundance and overflow. It suggests that God’s blessings are not limited or rationed; they are plentiful and overflowing for those who live generously. The act of giving is not just a transaction but a reflection of our trust in God’s provision and our commitment to living out His love and grace.

In practical terms, this can mean sharing our time, talents, and resources with others. It can be as simple as offering a kind word, lending a helping hand, or supporting someone in need. When we give from a heart of love and compassion, we reflect the character of God and create a ripple effect of blessings in our community.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, remove any fear or selfishness that hinders my ability to give. Replace it with a spirit of generosity that reflects Your character. I pray that my actions bring glory to Your name and spread Your love to those in need.

I pray also that through my giving, others may see Your love and be drawn closer to You. Use me as an instrument of Your grace, making a difference in the lives of others and in my community.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
